Local is Lekker at Lyngrove

From our Wine Cellar to your Dining Room table

Remember back when Cyril announced Level 5 lockdown would begin in 2 days? It was all rather pandemonium, everyone securing groceries, wine purchases and enough loo paper to survive a year of lockdown!

We were told for 3 weeks. In fact, it wasn’t was it?

House arrest became the new norm, we kept up our chores, groomed the horses, cut the lawn, vacuumed the resort and ran within our fence line.
Not forgetting investing in our wine knowledge. Quality control is number one in the Cavern kitchen and equally the bar, so we cleared out the flat beers and any sniff of a corked blend.

Admittedly, we received plenty of desperate WhatsApps from mostly first-time teachers. Begging for a case-of-wine; any would do, and when next you come to town, please. Naturally, we weren’t allowed to help all those COVID weathered folk during prohibition. But we can certainly help you today!

Lyngrove Wine Estate has kindly provided us with three mixed cases to ensure you survive another lockdown!

Introducing Lyngrove Wine Estate

Lyngrove is set in South Africa’s Wine capital, Stellenbosch. Founded in 1998. Under the guidance of Chris Rabie and the Baarmsa family. The first bottle produced was the 2001 Pinotage. The Pinotage remains a firm favourite amongst Lyngrove wine friends and regularly wins coveted wine awards.

The Lyngrove Why

Lyngrove created The Collection range. Which Jan-Nico Coetzee, National Sales Manager, mentions: ‘We want a bottle of collection, where friends and family come together to celebrate each other without any pretence and airs’. ‘And the Reserve and Platinum ranges which are a bit more serious and structured. Beautiful wines with a focus on elegance and finesse. They find their place at a lunch or dinner table where time is spent and savoured with those you hold dear.’

Lyngrove Supports

They not only invest in their immediate community but also beyond the Winelands. Regularly supporting their wine supporters projects as well as The Sunflower Fund.

You Can Visit

You can visit the estate and view the 5 hectares of the certified Old Vine Project vineyard (Old bush vine Chenin Blanc), which was planted in 1980.
Inside scoop: Lyngrove lovers recommend the Collection Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc for the warmer months and the Collection Merlot and Pinotage for those cooler periods.
